Adult Sabbath School Lesson (March 23-30): "I Make All Things New"

It used to be the most dangerous place on earth.

Much like a nuclear reactor, you see, the Temple in Jerusalem was designed to keep people safe.
  • That's why it was surrounded by a fence - a fence that only authorized people could go inside.
  •  That's why inside that fence there was a building  - a building that only very authorized people could go inside.
  • And that's why inside that building there was a room: the Most Holy Place - and just like the core of a reactor, the Most Holy Place was off-limits almost all of the time to to almost everyone.
"No one can see my face and live," God said to Moses - and the design of the Temple reflected that fact.
That's what makes the New Jerusalem so different.
  • Just like the Most Holy Place, you see, the New Jerusalem is a cube.
  • Just like the Most Holy Place, the New Jerusalem shines with the Shekinah -- with the visible presence of God.
  • But unlike the Most Holy Place, the New Jerusalem is open all of the time to all of God's people!
In short, the New Jerusalem is a place where we will see God's face (Revelation 22:4) . . .
And that raises a question:
Does He change?
Or do we?

Adult Sabbath School Lesson (March 16-22): Judgment on Babylon

It's not always easy to tell right from wrong.

Take Babylon and the New Jerusalem, for instance - two cities in the Book of Revelation that have much in common with each other.
  • Both are compared to beautiful women.
  • Both are loaded with all kinds of gold and jewels.
  • And much to the surprise of many, both have close relationships with "the kings of the earth" (cf. Revelation 21:24).
So . . . what makes one good and the other bad?
And what does this tell you about the difference between right and wrong?

Adult Sabbath School Lesson (March 9-15): The Seven Last Plagues

The Seven Last Plagues?

A better name would be "The Seven Last Speed-bumps."

Nobody dies in these plagues, after all.

(Nobody except the fish.)

That's why they're best understood as warnings - as God's seven last attempts to make good and sure people know they're going the wrong way.

And the fact that nobody pays attention to these warnings?

Proof there's nothing else God can do - no matter how drastic - that would make them give up their foolishness.

In short, it's not The Seven Last Plagues we need to worry about.

No, it's the people who are willing to ignore them . . .

People like us.

That's what worries me.

Adult Sabbath School Lesson (February 23 - March 1): Satan & His Allies

1,260 days.

42 months.

Time, times, and half-a-times.

God always saves His people . . .

But as Revelation 13 reminds us, He doesn't always do it right away.
